We have a strong bond with the Bath Festival of Children’s Literature. Set up by the dynamic duo, Gill and John McLay, this incredible ten-day festival in September is now in its ninth year. It has grown each year, like Topsy. Now recognised as the largest children’s literature festival in Europe, it brings in thousands of families from far and wide, to be totally inspired by a huge range of writers.
If your child loves reading, this is the place to be. If you want to encourage your child to read, this is the place to be. If you want to catch the book buzz, this is the place to be! The excitement is infectious!
Each year BGS sponsors an event at the Festival, which entitles a group of BGS students to interview the author(s) and to steward. Click here to see Ten Things you Might Not Know About David Almond from the 2014 festival, or here for an interview with Sally Green – hosted on the festival’s official website.
In addition, a group of dedicated Literary Events students have attended the opening night party, gone to several events and made a number of useful contacts in the publishing world.
We are so proud to be a part of this annual literary bonanza!
